  • General questions

    What is the location of the event?

    The event will take place in Playa de Muro, located at the north part of Mallorca and nearby Alcúdia. You can check all locations in this link.


    What kind of entries are available? 

    -Mallorca 140.6

    -Mallorca 140.6 Half Relays

    -Mallorca 140.6 and Half Vintage Category

    What is the Vintage Category?

    Is a category to tribute the origins of triathlon. You can check the conditions to register to Vintage category here.


    Which are the distances?

    Mallorca 140.6

    Swim: 3.8km

    Bike: 180km

    Run: 42.195km


    Mallorca 140.6 Half

    Swim: 1.9km

    Bike: 90km

    Run: 21.1km


    Is there a minimum age? 

    Yes, athletes must be 18 on race day.


    Do I need to present a medical certificate prior to the race?

    No needed as when registering you accept the waiver and liability conditions where you acknowledge that participation in the Event is physically strenuous and associated medical and physical risks involved. The Participant agrees that is physically capable of competing in the Event and agrees to be solely responsible for his/her actions.


    I am registered but I am not able to race. What are my options?

    You can check all the information on our withdrawal/cancellation in our rules and regulations (article 4).


    Can I change the distance after I registered?

    You can change the distance. Check all the information on our withdrawal/cancellation in our rules and regulations(article 4).


    What age group am I in?

    You will compete as the age you are on 31st December in the year of the race. 


    Accommodation by the area?

    We recommend to check the official hotel packages with entry included and extra services if you contract them. You can see all options here. 


    Will be posible to have Personal/Special needs during the race?

    Yes, you will be able to have them for the Bike and Run course. 

    The bags to place your special needs will be available on transition area on race day. 

    There will be 2 different bags and you will have to place the personal needs on the corresponding bag. Transport to the aid station will be done by the organization and will be in the table by the corresponding aid station. All bags not used after the race will be trashed. 


    How can I can access to the prize money?

    To have the chance to access to the total prize money of 10.000€ you have to register in the  "Pro-Athlete" category contacting previously: proathlete@mallorca140-6.com


    What is the trophy structure? 

    You can check the information in our terms and conditions (article 5).


    Will be photos of the event after the race?

    Personal photos will be done by the official event photographer partner Sportograf. You can buy the package on presale when registering with a special price.

  • Before the race

    When is the race info sent out?

    Everything you need to know about the Mallorca 140.6 triathlon will be sent out in our Race Guide document, usually around 1 month before the event. This will include event timings, race details... It is important you read this as details may be different to those on the website. We recommend using the online Race Guide as a guide, as an email will be sent to the address you registered with notifying you of final details and possible amendments.


    What do I need to bring to collect the race number?

    - Your entry confirmation (highly recommend to have it digital and save paper) 

    - A valid ID/Passport

    - Triathlon license (in case you have one) If you don´t have one or if the one you have doesn´t cover you abroad you will have to get one paying 15€ when collecting the race number. 


    What does the 1 day license covers?

    Liability and accidents insurance for the race. The organization protocol includes medical and ambulance service.


    What will I receive when collecting the race number? 

    All the material you need for the race: 

    • Timing chip (that has to be returned at the Bike check out)

    • Athlete wristband 

    • Swim cap

    • Race number for the bike and stickers for the helmet

    • Race number for the run and safety pins

    • Transition bags and stickers

    • Participant gifts


    Can someone else pick up my start number?

    Yes, but must show the documents to accredite thi is done on your behalf: Copy of you confirmed registration and a copy of your valid Triathlon License. In case you don´t have one the 10€ of the one day license will have to be paid in cash by the person collecting your race number.


    Where and when is the race briefing?

    Friday at the VIVA Blue Hotel:

    15h – Spanish Race briefing

    16h- English Race Briefing


    Will be a pasta party?

    Yes, during the race briefings at the VIVA Blue Hotel. The athletes can access with the athlete wristband given at the race number pick up.


    Can someone else collect my ítems after the race?

    No, the athlete racing must collect these personally. Wristbands will be checked upon entry and items will be checked against your wristband and race numbers when leaving. In case any issues, you have to contact in advanced with the organization.


    How does the Bike check in works?

    The previous day of the race you will have to do the Bike check in and procedure is:

    You will have to enter:

     Bike + helmet + Blue and red transition bags with the numbers stick on them.

    At the check in you will receive the event bike cover.

  • Race day

    What do I have to do on race day?

    You can access transition area (not for check in) from: 6h to 7:30h.

    Leave your White bag in the wardrobe before the swim start.

    Go to the swim start and enjoy the day!


    What do I need to do if I forgot the chip or loose it during the race?

    You should approach a marshal or timing company staff to obtain a new one.


    Is there a Lost & Found ?

    Yes. Lost and found ítems will be stored at the Info Point (by the race number pick up area) The opening hours for the Info-Point are:Thursday and Friday 10h to 18h and Saturday 10h to 22h.After the race we will bring the lost and found equipment to the awards ceremony at the VIVA Blue Hotel and you can pick up your stuff there.


    If I want to quit during the race what should I do?

    You have to comunicate it to a referee and keep your timing chip until you do the Bike check out. 


    What do I get when I finish the race?

    Medal and finisher t-shirt as well as food and drinks in the after race area. 

    Massage Service for participants.

  • The Swim

    What do I have to wear?

    Swim cap provided and timing chip in your ankle (can be placed under the wetsuit).

    Wetsuit –Unless otherwise notified by the Event Organiser during the Race Briefing on Friday.


    Is a wetsuit mandatory?

    Event Organiser will communicate water temperature during the Race Briefing on Friday. Swimming wetsuits are mandatory for open water with water temperature under 15,9ºC. 

    Above these temperatures, the use of wetsuit is prohibited. 

    Will be optional up to 22ºC . Above this temperature, the use of wetsuit is prohibited. It is  participant’s responsibility to provide and use a wetsuit which complies with triathlon rules and regulations. Goggles are necessary for all open water swims.Gloves & Boots are not allowed.

    Age groupers over +50 are allowed to wear wetsuit at any circumstances-

  • The Bike

    What do I have to wear?

    Race number for the Bike at the seatpost and stickers in the helmet (front and side). Timing chip in your ankle. The Bike must follows the rules of the FETRI.


    Can I use disc brakes?

    Yes, they are allowed. 


    Is drafting allowed?

    No, drafting is absolutely forbidden. Non drafting distance will be 20 meters.


    Will the roads be closed?

    Yes, no traffic allowed during the race. Security will be controllled by Police and Organization. 


    Will be Bike doctor service during or before the race?

    Yes. Thursday and Friday at the Expo. Saturday on transition are before the race. On course during the race. 


    Is there a cut off?

    Yes. You can check them here.

    Cut off times are in place for participants safety. If you refuse to be picked up by the safety vehicle when the cut offs are enforced, is no longer responsibility of the Organization and you will carry on unsupervised at your own risk.


  • The Run

    What do I have to wear?

    Race number (always on your front) and timing chip on your ankle. 


    How many laps I have to run?

    Depending on the distance you participate the number of laps is different:

    4 for Mallorca 140.6

    2 for Mallorca 140.6 half

    Laps will we controlled placing a wristband on each loop. It´s the athlete responsiblity to control the number of laps. 

    Always run on the left.


    Is there a cut off?

    Yes. You can check them here.

  • After the race

    When can I do the check out?

    For Mallorca 140.6 Half: Saturday from 15h to 18:30h.

    For Mallorca 140.6:Saturday from 18:30h to 00:30h.


    Where do I return the timing chip?

    You have to return it at the Bike check out. If you don´t provide the chip we will not allow to collect the Bike until we have confirmed your identity. If you have lost your chip 15€ will have to be paid in cash. 


    Where I can see results?

    The results will be availabe on line after the race. They will no paper results in order to save paper.


    When is the trophy ceremony?

    Sunday at VIVA Blue Hotel:

    11:00h – Age groups, overall winners and relays Mallorca 140.6 Half

    11:45h – Age groups Mallorca 140.6

    12:30h – Profesional athletes Mallorca 140.6


    Can someone else go on my behalf to collect the trophy?

    Yes, with a written authorization.
